Dr. Eihab Abdelfatah, FACS, is a board-certified surgical oncologist specializing in the care of patients with various types of cancer. He treats cancers of the digestive system, including cancers that have spread to the lining of the abdomen (called the peritoneum).
He graduated from Rutgers University - New Jersey Medical School, where he also completed his general surgery residency. During residency, he completed a 2 year research fellowship at Johns Hopkins University working on cancer epigenetics and immunotherapy. He completed a Complex General Surgical Oncology fellowship at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, the world's first cancer research center and one of the first three NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers. His fellowship training gave him specialized expertise in cancer surgery and HIPEC.
Dr. Abdelfatah performs cytoreductive surgery with HIPEC, a treatment that uses heated chemotherapy inside the abdomen during surgery to target cancer that has spread within the abdominal cavity.
