Dr. Villamizar provides the most up-to-date surgical procedures and state-of-the-art treatment modalities for all diseases and conditions of the chest. He performs robotic-assisted minimally invasive thoracoscopic lung, esophageal and mediastinal resections. He offers multimodality therapy for locally advanced lung cancer, mesothelioma, mediastinal tumors (thymoma, germ cell tumor, paraganglioma), chest wall tumors (chondrosarcoma, osteosarcoma) and esophageal cancer in conjunction with thoracic medical oncologists and radiation oncologists. He also offers robotic-assisted minimally invasive surgery for benign esophageal conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux, achalasia, esophageal diverticulum, paraesophageal hernia and hiatal hernia. He is an expert in treating thoracic outlet syndrome and pectus excavatum. His surgical skills also include robotic assisted total thymectomy to treat myasthenia gravis and complex airway reconstruction for tracheal stenosis, tracheoesophageal fistula and tracheobronchomalacia. He is the director of our Lung Cancer Screening Clinic to help identify lung cancer at its earliest stages.
