Additional Information
Surgery has been my calling since high school, when I first shadowed a surgeon and witnessed the profound and immediate impact that an operation can have on a patient’s life. It was during this formative experience that I realized the deep, trusting relationships surgeons build with their patients. Specializing in surgical oncology allows me to guide patients and their families through some of their most challenging times, and it is incredibly rewarding to help them navigate complex treatment options. Having supported close family members through their cancer journeys, I understand the vital importance of clear, open, and honest communication and am dedicated to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. My goal is always to provide the same level of care I would want for my own loved ones.
My primary clinical focus is on gastric (stomach) cancer, retroperitoneal sarcoma, and tumors that have spread to the peritoneal cavity, such as colorectal, appendix, gynecologic, gastric, and primary peritoneal cancers. I also treat patients with gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST), neuroendocrine tumors (NET), and tumors of the intestine, colon, pancreas, and liver. I have expertise in robotic-assisted procedures and in performing cytoreductive surgery combined with heated intraperitoneal chemotherapy (CRS/HIPEC)—a highly specialized treatment available at only a select few centers in the region, including NYU Langone Health.
I am a strong advocate for seeking care at centers with comprehensive expertise. At NYU Langone’s Laura and Isaac Perlmutter Cancer Center, an NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, patients benefit from a multidisciplinary team of specialists. Our team includes surgical, medical, and radiation oncologists, as well as nutritionists, gastroenterologists, geneticists, and other professionals dedicated to providing world-class care.
In addition to clinical care, I am committed to advancing cancer treatment through innovative research. I have served as principal investigator for numerous national and international clinical trials and investigator-initiated studies, aiming to improve outcomes and shape future standards of care.
