Surgical Oncology Fellowship at Wake Forest University
Dr. Omeed Moaven is a board-certified surgical oncologist and assistant professor of Surgery and Interdisciplinary Oncology at the Louisiana State University New Orleans School of Medicine. His clinical interest is the multidisciplinary treatment of pancreas and hepatobiliary (HPB), peritoneal malignancies, and gastrointestinal (GI) cancers.
He is the Director of LSU-LCMC Cancer Center Biobank. He has an extensive research background in GI, and peritoneal malignancies, and his translational research program is currently focused on investigating oncolytic virotherapy to improve response to immunotherapy for GI cancers. His lab has designed novel oncolytic viruses being investigated to enhance the immune response against pancreatic cancer and other GI malignancies.
