Dr. Mio Kitano is faculty in the Division of Surgical Oncology and Endocrine Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio. She completed her general surgery residency at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine. During her surgical training, she completed a three-year clinical research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health. She joined the UT Health San Antonio in 2016 after completing a two-year clinical fellowship in general complex surgical oncology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Dr. Kitano’s clinical practice focuses on the surgical management of gastrointestinal malignancies, including those of the stomach, small bowel, and pancreas, and peritoneal surface malignancies. Her practice also includes treatment of sarcoma and gastro-entero-pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors.
